This industrial city of one million can be found on the southeastern coast of Korea, next to the Sea of Japan.  Ulsan is best known as being the corporate headquarters for automobile giant Hyundai.  In fact, the Hyundai Heavy Industries holds the title as the world’s largest shipyard and largest auto assembly plant.  It has undergone tremendous changes since 1962, when it was regarded as mostly a fishing port.  Currently, the city is also home to numerous oil refineries and fertilizer plants as well.
