In order to be considered for a job through Teach Away, you must meet the following minimum qulifications:

1. Native English speaker
Teach Away will only hire candidates who are fluent in English. As long as you speak as a native-English-speaker, Teach Away will gladly consider you for a teaching position abroad.

2. Undergraduate university degree
Candidates must have completed an undergraduate Bachelor's degree. Candidates who have majored in English literature are given extra consideration by some of our partner institutions.

3. TESOL Cetificate or equivalent (optional)
TESOL certificates are not always required, but will certainly make you a stronger candidate. Please note that candates applying to teach in Taiwan are required by Taiwanese law to hold a certificate in teaching English as-a-Second Language.

4. Passport from a native-English-speaking country
You must hold a passport from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States.

5. Great attitude
Teach Away looks for people who are responsible, enthusiastic, and excited about sharing their culture and language with others.
