Teach Away works with numerous partners in many countries around the world. Therefore, the application process and visa requirements can vary for each country’s program. Teach Away offers a step-by-step guide to streamline the general application process.
Step 1 – Submit an Online Application
Apply for a teaching job overseas using our online application form.
Step 2 – Application Review
Each application is reviewed by the department at Teach Away managing the available opportunites. If your application is found to meet the needs of the position or program, a Teach Away representative will contact you to proceed to the next stage.
If your application is not the best match for a particular opportunity, it will still be considered for other available positions for which you may qualify.
Step 3 – Pre-Screen Phone Interview
Each program requires a preliminary phone interview with a Teach Away representative. Typically, the phone interview will cover your qualifications and experience, your interest in teaching overseas, and will provide more information regarding contract details. If you qualify for the next stage of the application process, you will be provided with details on your next steps.
Step 4 – Second Interview
Upon successful completion of a phone interview, you may be asked to complete a second interview over the phone or in person, depending on the program to which you have applied. Your Teach Away placement coordinator will provide additional information on the hiring process.
Step 5 – Additional Documents and References
Candidates will be asked to provide references, and may be asked to provide additional documents as necessary.
Step 6 – Job Offer
Following reference checks, successful candidates are contacted and offered a placement abroad. Please note that the final hiring decision is at the discretion of our international partners. Once a candidate is offered a placement abroad, they will be given instructions as to their next steps (including visa application information, pre-departure steps, etc.)
