Hello,

I have a valid USA Teacher licence
I have Masters in Generic-Special Education pk-Gr8. in USA
I have Master level courses in Masters in Elementry .In USA
And Bachelors in History From University of Toronto

What jobs should I apply for ?

Kindly guide me in this process.

    Welcome to the forum!
    Just to give you an overview of what is required to teach abroad:

    To start, as a minimum to teach English in a foreign country, the most basic requirements are a bachelor’s degree in any subject area and a TEFL or other ESL certification , for all TELF positions visit here : https://www.teachaway.com/tefl-jobs

    If you have a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, a TEFL certificate AND you have a teaching license valid to be a teacher in your home country, then you qualify for certified or licensed teacher positions, teaching your subjects to students anywhere from Kindergarten to Grade 12 : https://www.teachaway.com/licensed-teacher-programs

    If you have a bachelor’s degree, a TEFL or other ESL certifications, a teaching license AND a graduate degree you could be qualified for leadership and administrative positions such as a Principal, Vice Principal, Counselor, etc. As a teacher in this category, you can ofcourse also apply for certified teacher or ESL instructor positions - you will have many options : https://www.teachaway.com/school-administrator-jobs

    That being said, I would recommend you to keep an open mind, keep an eye on the job board and find something that interests you and you qualify for, there are many opportunities available and requirements can vary from position to position.     Thank You Shirin , For the prompt reply.

    I want clarification that Can I apply to gr1-Gr8 teacher jobs in UAE?
    Also I graduated recently. I have student teaching and lots of volunteer experience in USA school system .
    Does that count as experience as I noticed that on job ads-2 years experience is required?

    Hello Tabassum:

    In terms of UAE-specific positions, the general requirements across the board include (this might change over time):

    1. A Bachelor's degree, at minimum
    2. A current teaching license from your local government, or A TESL/TEFL certification, relevant to whatever subject you wish to teach (for example, if you wanted to teach math, you will need a teaching license in math; a TESL or TEFL is not a teaching license)
    3. Two years of relevant teaching experience at the required teaching level (for example, if you were applying to teach high school level English, then you would need to have had at least two years of teaching high school English; elementary or middle school level would not be accepted)

    Volunteer experience does not count as actual teaching experience, it will, however, be valuable to your application.
