Why do all of my applications show Closed--even those for 2018?

Hello,

I am very discouraged because all of my applications already show closed--even those for the 2018 academic year. Interview dates have not even been posted yet and with my experience, I do not understand not getting consideration for a position.

I would appreciate any feedback!

    Hi all,

    In the event you have "closed" applications, a number of things could be happening:

    - The hiring school may have filled the position
    - The hiring school may have decided they no longer need to fill the position
    - You may not have met qualification requirements

    Stick with it and make sure you're applying for jobs for which you do qualify. There are lots of candidates seeking positions, so make sure your profile is up to date and best demonstrates your teaching ability.

    Hi !
    My applications are showing "closed" . Please tell me what could be the reason behind it? The jobs starting in 2018 has been filled already?!

    Hi Sadaf,

    Yes. Positions with 2018 start dates could very well be filled already. Alternatively, you may not have met the specific job requirements (although I'm not sure because I haven't seen your profile or the specific posting for the job you applied for).

    Keep applying! It often takes candidates applying for several jobs before they find the right opportunity for them.

    I'm guessing it depends on several factors. So far, one of my applications has been closed and the other is still under review. My most recent (third filled out three days ago as of this writing...) is probably going to be closed because I didn't even get the phone interview because I could not make it to one of the up-coming job fairs.

    Hi ! Thanks for replying. It is a feeling of disappointment to see all applications close one after another. Any way , one cant do anything much about it. It looks like once position's been closed , wait for another year or so !

    I still have another question , if anyone could answer. My subject is English (Elementary level). On the job posts it shows 100 vacancies and another board shows 80 vacancies. Its hard to understand how do they fill up so fast !

    Hi Sadaf,

    While that may seem like a lot of vacancies, it's not a whole ton in the grand scheme of things. There are lots and lots of teachers using Teach Away to find jobs, so the process can, at times, move rather quickly.

    Anything else I can lend a hand with?
