Deputy Head – Early Years & Primary

Our client, a well-established international school in Rabat, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Head of Early Years & Primary to support the leadership and strategic development of the school.

This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Head of School/Principal to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, student wellbeing, and operational excellence within a bilingual and dual-curriculum environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day leadership and management of Early Years and Primary.
Monitor and enhance teaching quality through observations, coaching, and mentoring.
Lead curriculum development and ensure continuity across phases.
Support staff development, performance management, and professional learning.
Promote strong safeguarding, student wellbeing, and positive behaviour practices.
Build effective relationships with parents and represent the school within the community.
Support compliance with local education regulations and international standards.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience, ideally in Early Years and Primary.
Previous leadership experience (Coordinator, Head of Year, Deputy, or similar).
Strong understanding of high-quality teaching and curriculum development.
Experience in bilingual or international school contexts (advantage).
Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
