House of Knowledge is looking for an experienced Kindergarten Principal to manage and grow the operations of one of our Early Years locations with a capacity of more than 200 children. If you are an energetic team player and comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-changing environment, this role could be for you. You are a person who connects well with parents and understands what they are looking for in international education.

Established in 2007, House of Knowledge has been providing child-centred education to local and foreign children in Beijing for a decade now. What started as a small kindergarten, has since grown in popularity and size. In 2014, our elementary school in the upmarket district of Shunyi opened as natural progression from the successful Early Years campus near downtown Chaoyang Park. Today, around 250 children from over 10 countries attend House of Knowledge. Our qualified foreign teachers are native speakers from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and Germany.

                                         

Key Tasks

  • Lead kindergarten operations with a strong focus on enrolments and academic quality
  • Manage operating expenses in line with budget
  • Develop a work place in which all staff recognize that they are accountable for the success of the kindergarten
  • Monitor, evaluate and review the impact of policies, priorities and targets of the kindergarten in practice, and provide advice for improvement to House of Knowledge management
  • Maintain an environment that promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning, high standards of achievement and good behavior
  • Implement and monitor the International Early Years Curriculum and its assessment and ensure that statutory requirements are met
  • Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning and standards of achievement of all pupils in the kindergarten through regular classroom visits, and other methods
  • Conduct staff training to ensure a consistent approach to teaching across all educators
  • Maintain an effective partnership with parents and the wider community to support and improve students’ achievement and personal development
  • Ensure that parents and students are well informed about the curriculum, attainment and progress and about the contribution they can make in supporting their child’s learning and achieving the kindergarten’s targets for improvement
  • Plan, allocate, support and evaluate work undertaken by groups, teams and individuals, ensuring clear delegation of tasks and devolution of responsibilities in a manner consistent with conditions of employment
  • Assist in preparation of reports to authorities, accrediting bodies, and others to enable them to play their part effectively
