We are accepting applicationsn for a High School Assistant Principal role at the International American School of Cancun.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Discipline: Implements and maintains a code of acceptable student behavior, following school guidelines
- Observes and evaluates teacher performance
- Plans leadership training for students and teachers
- \Helps with organization / planning of school events and trips / guest speakers
- Acts as Principal in her absence
- Teaches one class (according to his/her interest and education and school needs)
The Assistant Principal's schedule is 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday to Friday. (Teachers’ schedules - 7:00 a.m. -2:45 p.m.) In addition, he/she is required to help prepare and attend special events such as holiday presentations and graduation, teachers' meetings, parent meetings, and other school functions. Some of these are held during school hours, but others take place during the evening or on Saturday. All administrators and teachers may also be asked to accompany students on field trips or school trips, which may not occur during school hours. There is no extra remuneration for these trips, but all expenses incurred are covered by the school.
The AP reports to work one week before the teachers in August and will work one week after the school year is over. He/She may be asked to work at extra day during the other holidays (Christmas, Easter) depending on when the holidays begin and what work is pending. This will be agreed upon at least a month before the holidays.
