Purpose:
The English Teacher is responsible for working as a team member in providing a quality educational program for K-6 children in planning, assessing, instructing students, maintaining required records, following grant compliance and licensing guidelines under the supervision of the teacher.
Responsibilities
Work as a team member in providing a quality elementary educational program
Assist the Principal/Director and staff in implementing schools curricular and long range goals while maintaining the integrity of his/her classroom
Assist in establishing parent involvement activities
Assist in all daily operations of the program
Model lesson plans and the GEE curriculum to novice teachers
Assume responsibility for student achievement and create that expectation for all school staff and faculty by leading a dynamic professional learning community that embraces accountability and outstanding student results
Coach and develop teachers on how to design rigorous and relevant formative and summative assessments to effectively measure progress and mastery
Manage and monitor curricular materials and curriculum selection process used in educational programs in the centers
Collaborates with Multicenter Director and administration
Work with individual and small groups of students
Support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts
Assist children with personal health care needs
Work collaboratively and communicate with the classroom teachers to implement lessons plans, activities, and classroom tasks
Assist teacher with monitoring behavior and supporting the educational process in the classroom
Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress
Collect and document data regarding the student(s)
Maintain accurate and complete student records
Supervise students in classrooms, halls, field trips, cafeterias, and/or playground
Participate in training and on-going professional development
Able to work Flexible hours as needed for family involvement activities
Other duties as needed, including staying in classrooms when needed
