Duties of ESL Teacher:

  • The teaching load will be 40 hours per week for grades 1-8 (potentially grades 9-12).
  • Follow the Cambridge International curriculum, develop a course syllabus and put together a comprehensive lesson plans to deliver the courses assigned to the teacher. Upload all course materials and grades to the school’s online learning platform and provide all the necessary learning materials and curriculum resources to the Vice Principal.
  • Work collaboratively with other English teachers in developing the content, delivery, and assessments of courses and constantly strive to improve and refine the course quality, delivery, and content. Create on-going assessments for the English programs, draft strategies of improvement, champion actions to bring forward the change and monitor/evaluate the English taught programs.
  • Show cooperative and positive attitude in helping with administrative work such as accreditation, reports and other duties as assigned by the president or school administration. Conduct surveys and opinion polls to assess the progress of the course and provide feedback to the students.
  • Communicate effectively with the parents regarding student progress.
  • Participate in regular, on-going teacher development programs. Participate in school activities and events when necessary and contribute proactively to developing extra-curricular activities and special programs to impact students and the community.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by the president or the secondary school administration.
