- Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of research findings and recent trends in the education of students in grades 7-12 in Math in both the traditional and hybrid model.
- Must have at least 5+ years teaching experience; preference given to candidates who are National Board Certified Teachers, those that have had previous leadership experience, or an advanced degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
- Tax free salary - 75% paid in GBP and 25% paid in local currency at the bank exchange rate each month
- A monthly 'Foreign Exchange Stipend' which reflects the relatively low exchange rate prevailing between the GBP and USD; this is a temporary adjustment and would not feature in your contract as it applies only for as long as the exchange rate is greater than GBP1:USD1.5. The candidate will assume the educational leadership and supervision for the Math department to ensure that students are supervised in a safe learning environment and provided engaging, technology-rich instruction that meets or exceeds the Curriculum Standards and the current instructional model.
Achieving academic excellence requires that the Head of Department works collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team [SLT] to lead and nurture members of the staff and to communicate effectively with parents and colleagues during staff development and meetings.
Inherent in the position are the responsibilities within the department for planning, coordination, curriculum development, program evaluation/audit, personnel management, purchasing and budgeting, and staff observations and feedback.
