Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a high school English teacher or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience or a strong understanding of the AP Capstone program, specifically AP Seminar, and its integration within an ELA curriculum.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for fostering literary excellence and advanced academic skills in high school students.
- Experience with advanced placement (AP) coursework is highly desired.

As a High School ELA Teacher, you will guide students in developing advanced critical thinking, sophisticated communication skills, and a profound appreciation for diverse literary and intellectual works, including the challenges of the AP Capstone program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that encompass literature, writing, grammar, and language skills, fostering both analytical and creative abilities.
- Integrate AP Seminar skills (research, argumentation, presentation) within the ELA curriculum, preparing students for success in the AP Capstone program and beyond.
- Develop and implement curriculum that challenges students to engage deeply with complex texts, promoting advanced literary analysis and interpretation.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through a variety of methods, including assignments, tests, projects, and AP-style assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Create an inclusive and intellectually stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation, respectful discourse, and diverse perspectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues, and parents, to support student success and address individual learning needs, particularly within the demands of advanced coursework.
- Guide students in the development of sophisticated research and writing skills, essential for success in college and beyond.
