$500 in moving expenses at the beginning of contract (overweight or extra luggage, cookware and bedding, etc)
New teachers receive $530 a month to put toward housing and expenses (A two-bedroom, brand new apartment within walking distance of the school averages between $200 and $350 dollars a month)
$1700 in airfare to travel to the teacher's home country per year will be provided
Health and social insurance equal to that of Chinese nationals
Support from Chinese nationals in renting an apartment, securing a cell phone/sim card, setting up banks and internet, etc. (ongoing)
Very low cost of living (taxi to school for under $1, meal in a restaurant for $1 to $3, internet and TV costs about $10 a month, etc)
Life in a city of 7 million people. Anything you need can be found in Yantai or ordered online

Job Description:

Seeking a full-time High School English/Language Arts teacher. St Paul American is a college preparatory school and the courses require exposing students to a wide genre of reading, writing, and speaking topics. Our students are predominantly English as a second or third language speakers, but some are well beyond fluent in the area of English. The position is challenging as you have students at both ends of the English Language spectrum. Yantai is an easy city for a non-Chinese speaker to live in and the cost of living is very low, allowing you to save a lot of money and have money to travel with.

The school is a program affiliated to Beijing Normal University, which is one of the most prestigious schools in China and was founded in 1902. The campus features a soccer field, multiple basketball courts, a gymnasium, dormitories and a number of building for instruction.
