Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food and Nutrition Teacher to join our educational team. Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement lesson plans that cover essential topics in food science, nutrition, meal planning, and culinary skills.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with state educational standards and promotes health literacy among students.
Instruction:
- Deliver engaging and informative lessons using a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on cooking demonstrations and interactive discussions.
- Educate students on the importance of nutrition, food safety, and the impact of dietary choices on overall health.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop assessments to evaluate student understanding and skills in food and nutrition.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress.
Student Support:
- Encourage critical thinking and creativity in meal planning and food preparation.
- Offer guidance and support to students, helping them make informed choices about their diet and lifestyle.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about the latest trends and research in nutrition and culinary education by participating in professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share resources.
Community Engagement:
- Promote healthy eating habits and nutrition awareness through school events, workshops, and partnerships with local organizations.
- Involve students in community service projects related to nutrition and food security.
Working Conditions:

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching certification and experience in a secondary education setting.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition science, food safety, and culinary techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

KCISEC is a private K-12 school. We are located 45 minutes outside of Shanghai. Our school’s population is 5,000. We are an IB-authorized and AP-approved school. KCISEC follows American Curriculum, using Common Core Standards for both English and Math.
Our Science Department has begun to implement the Next Generation Science Standards. Our Social Studies department has adopted the UCLA History Standards. The High School Program (G9- G12) at KCISEC is designed to prepare students for college and university admission.
Kang Chiao is a cross-strait school that has East China and Taipei campus. East China Campus, Kang Chiao International School, was formally introduced to Mainland China by the invitation of the People’s Government of Kunshan in 2012. We opened a new school of 15 years of education which aims to provide a culturally stimulating environment for students in China.
In East China Campus, we invested a total of 500 million yuan in an area of 215 acres. The newly founded school opened its door to students from kindergarten, primary, junior, and senior high school on September 2014.
