The Middle School Coordinator supports the principal in providing the instructional and organizational leadership of the middle school. The MS Coordinator works with others to develop and execute a school improvement plan and allocates resources to continually improve student achievement. The MS Coordinator is also committed to building a talented instructional team and working with the Principal to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment for all students.The Middle School Coordinator reports directly to the Secondary School Principal and works collegially with administrative faculty. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Liaises with and provides instructional leadership to Middle School teachers
  • Supervises and Evaluates Middle School teachers as assigned by the Principal
  • Develops and oversees the Middle School ESL program
  • Assists Middle School teachers with the development of goals for the School-wide Action Plan
  • Provides staff in-service that aligns with the school Professional Development Plan and is based on the expertise of the Middle School Coordinator
  • Designs and implements the Middle School Timetable in collaboration with the Principal
  • Leads and oversees the publishing of Middle School Report Cards
  • Handles student discipline in the Middle School
  • Administers the school Admission Interview and Selection Process for Middle School students in collaboration with the Principal
  • Prepares and oversees the school examination schedules for Middle School students in collaboration with the Counselor and Principal
  • Leads middle school parent meetings regarding individual student achievement and/or discipline
  • Assists the principal in developing and implementing the school emergency plans for fire, earthquake, and lock downs
  • Supervises school events and activities as shared with the Principal
  • Participates in school leadership meetings
  • Keeps current in recent educational research and practices
  • Fulfills other related duties as required
  • Oversee Secondary School MAP Testings, train staff on how to utilize test results
  • Teaches classes as necessary
