Job Description
BASIS Early Education Center Nanshan is seeking qualified candidates for a Pre-Kindergarten (Early Education) Teacher to start in August 2023!
BASIS Early Education Center Nanshan is a new campus in our network of schools, opening in 2023! It is located in Shenzhen, China. It is known for being the home of Shenzhen High-Tech Industrial Park, which comprises some of China's largest technology companies and the establishments of well-known international companies. It is also one of the nation's richest districts.
BASIS International teachers are knowledgeable, passionate, and believe in transforming education. As part of a uniquely collaborative and professional teaching community, BASIS International teachers motivate students to reach their highest potential, while also elevating their skills through peer collaboration and a culture where learning is of the greatest importance. Our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are taught by two teachers--the lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher and an additional Pre-Kinder Teaching Fellow. The Pre-Kinder Teaching Fellow supports students' learning and supplements the lead teacher's instruction.
In a BASIS International Pre-Kindergarten teaching position, you will create a learning environment that is a joyful and rewarding experience, and children learn to become enthusiastic, life-long learners. The thematic, hands-on, and content-rich curriculum creates a foundation for children to build upon in the elementary grades. Our early education teachers are guided by the belief that any child can excel with the right support.
Primary Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lay foundations for the joy of learning to set students up for success with the challenging curriculum in the elementary grades.
- Begin helping students develop skills of autonomy, responsibility, and independence.
- Implementation of the BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to display your passion for learning and educating students at an internationally competitive level.
- Management of student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality in all students.
- Collaborate with other BASIS International teachers to form a community of smart, talented, and interesting people who are passionate about their work and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment.

Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Early Learning, Childhood Development, or other related field and the ability to successfully pass a background clearance.
- Must have a minimum of 2 full years of teaching experience.

About the Campus
BASIS Bilingual Kindergarten Nanshan opened in fall of 2024 and became our first campus focusing exclusively on Early Childhood Education. The campus includes classrooms tailored to the needs of young learners, play spaces, and more. BASIS Bilingual Kindergarten Nanshan moved into the founding BASIS International School Shenzhen location in the expat-friendly Shekou neighborhood. The outstanding educational outcomes that have been achieved in this location already will continue as we blend the Chinese national curriculum with the BASIS Curriculum to excite young students and build a solid foundation for future study.
Living in Shenzhen
Shenzhen is one of the fastest growing economic centers in the world, and Futian has it all on display with a beautiful, lighted skyline. About a mile from campus is Coco Park Mall with a movie theater, children's playground, and numerous international restaurants, bars and shops--such as Gap and Uniqlo.
Only approximately two miles from campus is the Shenzhen concert hall designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, which attracts musicians from around the world. Across the plaza is a huge complex housing the Shenzhen library (9 million volumes) and the mega Book City that has its own English-language bookstore. The school is also close to the Shenzhen Golf Course, the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and three amusement parks.
