Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the organizational structure and elements of a successful school counseling program
  • Knowledge of International School and Cambodian context
  • Understanding of leadership principles, learning theories, multiculturalism and career counseling theories
  • Knowledge of the full continuum of mental health care services, such as prevention and intervention
  • Thorough understanding of barriers to student learning and the use of counseling strategies to eliminate those barriers
  • Knowledge of individual counseling, group counseling and classroom instruction that promote high academic achievement
  • Up to 2,000 USD Reimbursement for quarantine expense due to COVID-19
  • Standard Private Medical Insurance

Westview Cambodian International School is an international secondary school adopting American Common Core Standards as academic standards for its core subjects - ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies.

The school is looking for a dedicated and competent school counsellor to help create conducive learning environment that meets each student's individual needs and plan, implement and oversee results-based school counselling programs that promote student high academic achievements and well-being.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works within Academic Affairs Dept on developing, implementing and managing school counselling programs to promote student high academic achievement, social and emotional well-being,
  • Works with Academic Manager, Academic Principal and other departments to set goals and result based support programs that meets school goals for targeted students and whole student body,
  • Monitor and record student progress to ensure counseling programs are effective,
  • Advises and counsels students in individual, small group and classroom settings regarding academic, educational, and short-term social and emotional problems,
  • Provides feedback and recommends appropriate action and solutions to individual student’s academic and educational needs and abilities.
  • Works with students to develop successful learning habit and critical life skills such as self-regulation, organization and time management,
  • Provides individual student planning and responsive services to support students and their families regarding academic matters,
  • Teaches guidance classes and provides guidance counseling to students through planned activities in small group or classroom settings to convey educational, social, and important school information, and offers workshops/seminars for parents.
  • Consults, facilitates, and maintains communication with parents, teachers and leadership on specific student and parent academic and educational matters including academic modifications and/or accommodations.
  • Remains universally accessible and makes an effort to know every student for whom they are responsible,
  • Supports and attends appropriate student activities and events,
  • Participates and performs other school activities promoting student success and achievement.
