JOB GOAL: To use teaching skills and techniques and ethical professional performance in providing a quality and equitable education for all students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and Preparation. The teacher will:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of content and content-related pedagogy, as well as prerequisite relationships.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics, skill levels, approaches to learning, and varied interests of the student age group that is being taught.
3. Select appropriate instructional goals that reflect high expectations, clarity, diversity, and a balance of teaching/learning techniques and styles.
4. Demonstrate awareness and use of available resources for both teachers and students.
5. Plan structured learning activities that use a variety of materials and resources; a varied and appropriate grouping of students to engage them in meaningful learning.
6. Assess student learning on a regular basis in a manner that is congruent to instructional goals and related to district and state standards.
7. Collaborate with support services teams to develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
