The Vice Principal provides support to the Principal to promote in the section and the school the mission, vision, and values as expressed in school policy and is a key member of a cohesive leadership team.
- Direction Setting: Ability to inspire and set the direction of a team to achieve a specific goal/task.
- Instructional Leadership: Expertise in American academic standards; able to translate student mastery requirements into instructional plans and strategies; adept at data analysis extracting meaningful insights that are used to better instruction; deep understanding of appropriate application and differentiation of instructional strategies.
- Relationship Building: Cultivating positive relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
The Vice Principal’s job is to support the school in driving academic and social emotional learning outcomes for students as a member of the school’s leadership team. The Vice Principal is expected to lead both instruction and school culture, while developing the skills of the school's emerging leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model and support implementation of the school’s vision and goals.
- Monitor the welfare, conduct, and academic progress of students in Grades 7-12
- Serve as an instructional leader with knowledge of American standards and research-based instructional practices
- Supervise American Section external and internal examination
