Curriculum & Accreditation Coordinator

Job Description

Curriculum & Accreditation Coordinator serves as the school wide coordinator for curriculum, accreditation and professional development, working in collaboration with the academic leadership team (ALT) and reporting to the Head of School.

 

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Supervision

  • Oversee the revision and development of curriculum for all sections of the school
  • Oversee the academic program review cycle. Work with ALT to define annual goals, create study groups and follow up on recommended actions
  • Plan strategically for transitions in academic programs
  • Ensure horizontal and vertical alignment of the curriculum school wide
  • Assist with the identification of resources and materials to support the school’s curriculum
  • Manage the school’s web-based curriculum management tool (Atlas) and train new employees in its effective use
  • Evaluate the results of curricular planning on an annual basis

 

Accreditation

  • Coordinate the AdvancED and the Ministry of Education accreditation processes. This includes ensuring timely follow-up on required actions as defined by AdvancED and/or the Ministry
  • Work with the school’s general secretary to ensure compliance with Ministry of Education requirements.

 

Academic Professional Development

  • Oversee the academic professional development (PD) program.  Work with ALT and the Head of School to define annual goals, define a training format, identify courses and trainers and establish a PD schedule for the academic year
  • Identify and/or develop faculty growth opportunities both in school and out of school

 

Meetings / Other Responsibilities

  • Meet weekly with the Head of School.
  • Participate in weekly ALT meetings
  • Meet as needed with the area principals, instructional facilitators and coordinators
  • Foster collaborative relationships with U.S.-accredited schools
  • Present an annual report to the Head of School summarizing and evaluating progress in curricular planning, accreditation and professional development
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School

 

Meetings / Other Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with the Head of School and the instructional facilitators
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with the Curriculum Coordinator at the Quito Campus
  • Present an annual report to the Head of School summarizing and evaluating progress in curricular planning
