Job Title:   Curriculum Specialist – English Subjects (Middle School/High School)

The Curriculum Specialist (CS) for English subjects supports teachers by providing the foundation materials for courses and giving constructive feedback on how teachers are implementing those materials. The CS keeps abreast with the latest educational practices, guides teachers in creating robust and targeted learning experiences and opportunities, shares natural interdisciplinary connections for classroom experiences, and works with teachers to create, enhance, revise, and update their curriculum maps.

General Duties include:

  • Constant check and balance of the English subjects curriculum in use at the Middle and High School level.
  • Oversee the curriculum review and implementation cycles
  • Guide and work with teachers in the development, implementation, and updating of the English subjects curriculum and the curriculum mapping process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education
  • Master’s degree in Curriculum and instruction from an accredited university; or have extensive curriculum training; or obtained a curriculum development certificate at the College level (preferred)
  • Excellent command of the English language – written and spoken
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in English language subjects at the middle school and high school level; 2 years of leadership experience
  • Certification in adult learning would be an asset
  • Knowledge and use of structure and content of curriculum frameworks
  • Knowledge in curriculum development, curriculum management techniques, identification of best practices, and educational research.
