Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

The Menominee Indian School District has a full-time itinerant position available for an Early Childhood Special Education teacher at the Menominee Nation Early Childhood Centers, and Keshena Primary School for the 2022-2023 school year. 

Responsibilities:

  • Candidates will work collaboratively with teachers, families, and community stakeholders to address individual student concerns, assist families in the referral and evaluation process, and eligibility determination, and develop and implement comprehensive Individualized Education Plans.
  • Candidates must communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers to meet the individual needs and services listed in the IEP.

Qualifications:

Candidates shall possess an 1809, an Early Childhood Special Education license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

Special Qualifications:

Candidate shall possess the ability to communicate clearly with young children and adults, the ability to write Individual Educational Plans (IEP), possess working knowledge of IDEA Law and procedures, the experience of working with young children aged 3-6 years old, possess the ability to work both independently and in a team setting, and must have good written and verbal communication skills.
