Early Years Homeroom Teacher

Overview: Our Early Years Department is equipped with a range of superlative facilities that we encourage our teachers to use for the benefit of the children. The curriculum is heavily influenced by both the International Baccalaureate and Reggio Emilia approaches. Teachers who are familiar with these styles will appreciate our teaching method, but they’ll need to embrace the specific pedagogy that the school follows. Many children will have limited English skills before enrolling in the school, so we’ll focus on helping them become familiar with the language.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop children’s personal, social, language, and physical coordination abilities.
  • Develop and implement well-structured lesson plans that align with the relevant subject area and grade levels, and ensure that they meet the curriculum objectives.
  • Create visual aids and teaching resources as well as encourage mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing, and imaginative play.
  • Plan and coordinate children’s classroom and outdoor activities.
  • Record, assess, and summarize children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional progress and achievements.
  • Monitor students’ overall well-being and liaise with school counselors and other staff members to address any concerns or issues.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students.
  • Decorate the classroom and school environment to meet program goals.
  • Build rapport and professional relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Attend professional meetings and ongoing learning initiatives such as workshops, lectures, conferences, and other events to expand professional networks.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest teaching theory and practice.
