Elementary Teacher - Columbus - Ohio

Teachers at KIPP Columbus create authentic and meaningful learning experiences for students through the use of academically rigorous content and a joyful classroom culture.  In this role, teachers work to educate the whole child, developing deep relationships with each student and working with them to meet challenging academic goals. 

Responsibilities of KIPP Columbus Elementary School Teachers include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Craft, internalize, and implement high quality lesson plans using provided curriculum resources to meet the diverse needs of all learners
  • Set and work towards achieving measurable, challenging, and realistic student goals
  • Use small group instruction and technology to tailor learning plans for each individual student
  • Regularly assess student work and use student achievement data to improve student academic performance
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leaders around curriculum and school culture
  • Build authentic relationships with families to partner in ensuring the academic success of each student
  • Use effective strategies to create a positive and joyful classroom climate

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of lead teaching experience
  • Current Ohio Teaching License or willingness and ability to pursue certification by start date
