English Lead Teacher

Position Summary:

The Lead teacher will pledge his/her commitment to help the School achieve its mission, goals, and vision; value community; and bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to take thoughtful initiative in a collaborative setting. The Lead Teacher is responsible for making clear and effective decisions about planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum including assessments, and extra-curricular activities; leading and managing teaching and non-teaching staff; and organizing department resources. Lead Teachers have overall responsibility for the standard of students’ work, outcomes, and behavior in the department. Lead Teachers are expected to teach 12 periods per week.

Additional School Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (with an MA preferred) with a valid teaching certificate/license in content area and/or related field.
  • A minimum of five years, of current, full-time related teaching experience.
  • Teaching experience in an American curriculum school is preferred.
  • IELTS or TOEFL for non-native teachers (6.5 for subjects taught in English & 7.5 for English subjects).
  • Experience with current best practices, current teaching materials, and current instructional strategies as well as recent professional growth activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership with experience in curriculum development and co-curricular programs
TEFL certification required
