English Program Principal

Job Purpose

Provide leadership to teachers, parents, and students in grades 9-12 while actively promoting a holistic professional plan in a dynamic system dedicated to honor, excellence, community, and joy.

Job Duties

  • To implement the resolution of the Board of Directors and Chancellor in formulating the school work and development plans of the English Track
  • To be responsible for the daily operational and educational management of the English Track of the high school
  • To adhere to the "student-centered" principle and to lead the administration and educational work in the English Track
  • To establish and continually improve the English Track management systems (including teaching reform, collaboration, and research activities)
  • As the Principal of the English Track, to lead all foreign teachers in the Chinese Department and Kindergarten in the educational field of work
  • To introduce and provide teacher development and training platform to promote the professional development and career growth of teachers
  • To lead the development of school information technology, promoting the overall efficiency in the school management and student information management systems
  • To manage in a democratic manner, being accountable for the growth of teachers under the supervision and guidance of the Chancellor
  • To implement the ad hoc tasks assigned by the Chancellor

Job Benefits

  • Salary Scale: RMB 18,000+ BA, plus qualifications RMB 20,000+ MA, plus qualifications RMB 22,000+ Admin, plus qualifications

  • Highly experienced in teacher management and school operational management
  • Strong knowledge and proof of successful implementation of teachers professional development, student development and effective application of disciplinary strategies and techniques
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development planning and best practices
  • Demonstrates strong positive commitment toward school improvement
  • Able to create and deliver complex schedules with creativity, attention to detail in a timely manner
  • Strong background and understanding of the American-style elementary and secondary education system
  • Understanding in working with parents/guardians from many diverse cultural background
  • Experience and patience in working with members of the school community in tense situations
  • Fluent in both oral and written English at a professional standard Able to find solutions for meeting different student needs, such as Chinese education (Chinese college entrance exam) and western education (e.g. US Common Core, AP, IB)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • A leadership style that values collaboration, compromise, and a clear vision
  • Brokering partnerships with parents, businesses and the community

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • Holds a valid teaching and/or administrative license or certificate
  • At least 3 years internationalized school management experience and 5 years of classroom teaching experience
