ESL Elementary Teacher - Futian International & Fine Arts School - China

We are currently seeking qualified subject teachers as our full time homeroom ESL Elementary school teacher. Being in such position, you will be providing ESL push-in and pull-out ESL instructions for our elementary division through small group instruction. This is a great opportunity for an ESL teacher who loves to foster curiosity, growth, and engagement in students in grades k-5.

Working hours are approximately as follows:

5 classes maximum per day/ 25 classes per week
40 work hours week
Teaching and office hours 7:30am to 16:30pm

Contract duration: Starting from one year minimum, and more desirable if you have plans to consider settling in China for two or more years. Prospects of professional development and promotions available within the school for candidates considering long term development.

Holder of Bachelor's Degree or above, with Teacher's Certification or Degree in Education (preferred, but not necessary) American, British, Canadian or Australian would be considered more desirable Teaching experiences outside of home country preferred Candidates must have strong knowledge of literacy and second language acquisition and instruction Must be well-versed in teaching students with a wide range of language skills and comfortable with the major content areas of English language arts, math, science, and social studies, as well as ELS instruction Experience as a co-teacher in general education classes and in leading pullout ESL classes and academic support classes highly desirable We seek candidates who are skilled at assessing student levels of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and who are able to monitor student progress and provide targeted instruction based on student needs Experience providing consultation support to teachers and effective parent communication needed Elementary ESL teaching experience in China or abroad a must Teaching experiences in other subject areas (e.g. social studies, world languages, drama or character education) is considered a plus Teaching experience in a multi-cultural environment Ability to collaborate with local Chinese working partners and international working partners, teachers and school staff Capable in developing positive relationship with students and parents Be able to apply constructive and inquisitive approach in teaching students, and assist students learning Competent in differentiating and identifying students various needs and provide a catering and fluid educational approach Acquiring skills in developing school curriculum and program further in collaboration with other teachers and staff Showing commitment and self-initiation towards continual professional development Having keenness or holding open-mindedness to Asian/Chinese culture and customs in the workplace Further desirable if applicant could show us with a cultivated background with professional code of conduct e.g. proper dress code, neatness and punctuality, team playing skills Candidates will be more considered with positive outlook in life and healthy in physical condition in general, non smokers preferred
