Head of Supervision and Activities

Key Areas of Responsibility

Related to Supervision:

  • Coordinate, develop and review school discipline policies with the senior leadership team.
  • Ensure all teachers report to workstations and assigned duties in a timely fashion. Ensure students are present in classrooms: any missing teacher requires an immediate cover and an action report filed.
  • Ensure all students and teachers are properly suited to the Al Shomoukh International School dress code or uniform.
  • Monitor the classrooms and provide support for teachers dealing with student behaviour issues.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff;
  • Assure proper allocation for effective and proper invigilation of exams.
  • Meet with parents for students’ discipline related misconduct.
  • Mediate a resolution of problems, issues and concerns that may arise.
  • Uphold and adhere to Al Shomoukh International School behaviour policies regarding behaviour incidents; handle suspensions, detention and employee violations.
  • Form and lead a school discipline team. Plan and develop student discipline work with specific objectives for the school year.
  • Advise staff on student discipline issues.
  • Administer the code of conduct in a fair and consistent manner that is within the intent of the code.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, administrative rules, procedures relating to participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Implement procedures and draw attention to health and safety issue at Al Shomoukh International School; fire drills, lockdown, etc.

 

Related to Activity Coordination:

  • Establish and maintain Al Shomoukh International School activities.
  • Advise and supervise all student organizations.
  • Help with fundraisers.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with building administration.
  • Coordinate gym, building, and athletic field use to maintain a school usage calendar.
  • Act as a resource for staff.
  • Administer the code of conduct in a fair and consistent manner that is within the intent of the code.
  • Ensure district adherence to all school and Ministry of Education policies, administrative rules, procedures relating to participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Supervise and assist students effectively. Provide personnel and security for the school and student body sponsored events.
  • Draft activity and events proposals. Prepare a variety of reports including program activity reports and financial reports for events
  • Coordinate equipment and assist faculty advisors in planning events.
  • Coordinate supervision duties for trips and other school events. Coordinate travel arrangements and overnight accommodations for student activity groups or teams and their advisors and coaches.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers (parents, students, and/or teachers) to help with various school events; advertising, set up, running concessions, photos during the event, chaperones, security, and break down.
  • Work with accounts to establish a budget for the event, determine entry fees, manage expenses, and establish a projected return on investment.
  • Plan, organize and implement extracurricular activities in other academic areas; sports, photography.
