High School Counselor

Saint Paul American School, located in the Haidian district of Beijing, is in search of a skilled, highly motivated, and talented educator to fill the role of our High School Counselor for the 2021-2022 school year.   

You will be tasked with mentoring and counseling students from grades 9-12 for high school classes leading to college application and acceptance. Duties for the role will vary from grade-level to grade-level and range from meeting with students to track their progress on application, to preparing reports for parents and counselors.  As a full-time role, you will be tasked with the creation of seminars, meeting with students on a regular basis, the responsibilities of College Board and AP counseling as well as Common Application maintenance.  

Educators at Saint Paul American School also have daily office hours and host a club four days a week.  Work hours are from 7:40AM to 4PM on Mondays, and 7:45AM to 4PM Tuesday to Friday.  We follow a calendar that combines American and Chinese holidays. 

We are searching for an educator with experience in college counseling and/or has served as a counselor in a formal education setting.  Familiarity with College Board, CommonApp and Coalition is highly sought after.  Presentation skills and skills with PowerPoint, Excel, and other apps in Microsoft Office are also highly valuable.  The candidate must be able to communicate clearly and have excellent oral and written skills.
