High School Science Teacher

With fully equipped facilities, a rigorous study schedule, high morale, and exceptional education standards. The St. Patrick school Science curriculum is aligned with the NGSS and Common core standards; modified at some grade levels by the basic characteristics of the Dominican Republic curriculum and student’s needs. Designed to make science a fun experience in the classrooms for our students, implementing STEAM experience for learners and teachers engagement. Strategies like periodic homework assignments, creative in-class work, lab experiments, projects and regular assessments. Leadership development accompanies all classes through the 7 habits of the Leader in me program, developed through our highly elevated instructions.

Essential functions

Abide by the teachers’ rules and regulations, attend orientations, staff meetings, parents’ meetings, and participate in educational activities on time
Provide support to schools/principals as designated
Understand and respect the school's cultural heritage
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
Strives to implement by instruction and action the school's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
Attends staff meetings and orientations
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

About the School

St. Patrick School of Santo Domingo, an American type English school, was founded on March 17th, 2005 located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. One of our main objectives is to support and reinforce the guidelines of the education system in the Dominican Republic and to provide through an American Curriculum, the education necessary to succeed in all areas of development. We focus in providing an integral, modern education for students starting in Preschool all the way through High School. In 2007, motivated by the need to continue to promote the strong principles that are an intricate part of our educational beliefs, we decided to adopt the Catholic identity and include in our curriculum, specific subjects as well as special activities to promote the highest human values that frame our identity as a school: Integrity, Loyalty and Commitment. The school fulfills the standards of the North American Curriculum, supported by the Common Core Standards and it follows the official programs, academic calendar and requirements of the Ministry of Education in the Dominican Republic. The commitment to offer excellence in education granted us the accreditation by the “Accrediting Commission International (ACI)” and the membership to the “International Schools Association (ISA)”; . Both international organizations certify our school as an educational institution with high standards. We also have the permissions and recognitions required by the Dominican Ministry of Education to operate as a private school. In the year 2014 the school underwent the renewal of its mission and vision statements taking into consideration our community to offer an innovative cultural and academic program based on offering 21st century skills. New values were introduced as well that clearly defines a new mission of “ Forging enterprising leaders”.
