High School SEN Teacher - Cross Categorical

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct, monitor, and adjust teaching activities to assure student achievement, develop curriculum, plan and implement teaching strategies, and collaborate with colleagues in a team environment.
  • Collect and report relevant academic and behavioral data to measure progress toward IEP goals to adjust programming to ensure student success.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers.
  • The successful candidate will provide tolerance and extend understanding and nurturing to all students.

Special Qualifications:

  • Candidates shall possess the proper certification from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for Cross-Categorical Special Education 1801, or 1811, 1830 with proper grade level endorsement.  Or, qualify for an emergency license. 
  • Candidates shall possess teaching experience with adolescent students, a desire to work with students of this age, and the ability to maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Candidates shall also possess experience in test interpretation, the ability to implement IEPs, plan for individual needs and develop IEPs accordingly.
  • Possess a strong background in math, Reading, and Language Arts, and possess knowledge in academics, and strong background knowledge in behavioral interventions.
