Middle School Social Studies Teacher

An experienced, passionate, and creative Social Studies teacher who can foster stimulating discussions in engaging lessons for secondary school, nurturing students' dispositions, skills, knowledge, and understanding of world cultures, human history, and societies, and who can lay the foundations for success in High School classes.  

You will be joining a team of supportive, dedicated professional educators in our mission to provide the highest level of instructional excellence within holistic, meaningful experiences to a caring community of learners, all within the framework of internationally recognized standards of student learning and achievement.

ASU is a US-accredited school and follows a typical American school calendar with 180 instructional days, and our teachers engage in many aspects of school life, including professional learning opportunities, Parent-Teacher conferences, co-curricular activities, normal supervision duties, teacher-centered committees for school improvement, and various student-centered activities throughout the year. A typical teaching load will be thirty 40-minute periods per week (or equivalent).

Qualifications and Requirements

Additional School Requirements
  • Clear record of successfully teaching the subject and level.
  • Clean and verifiable police record.
  • Have excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in the teaching or academic area of this vacancy.
  • Possess a current government-issued teaching license.
  • International teaching experience preferred.
  • At least two years of classroom teaching experience in a secondary (middle or high) school.
