Music Teacher
GHA is seeking qualified and talented learner-centered teacher to actively engage our learners in inquiry- and project-based learning. We are looking for a teacher who is deeply committed to challenging and supporting learners to excel academically and socially – a teacher who is passionate about teaching and compassionate with learners.
The successful candidate should be prepared to relocate to Kigali, Rwanda around the start of August 2021. The position will suit a committed, enthusiastic teaching professional possessing the correct blend of moral purpose, teaching, and interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach effectively in an exciting and challenging cross-cultural environment
- Teach a designated music curriculum in Middle School and High School
- Show great individual care and support for the students, promoting learning styles that cater to individual differences to provide engagement in rigorous, relevant and significant learning
- Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences
- Assess and analyse student progress to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback to promote students’ progress towards standards
- Ensure that all learners have access to the appropriate tools for 21st-century learning
- Contribute to curriculum improvement, design and integration with other subject areas
- Be a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested in Music
