Physical Education Teacher

Native English-speaking Primary Physical Education teacher needed

We are currently looking for a caring and energetic native English-speaking Physical Education teacher to join our faculty to teach primary students. We are looking for someone to come in develop unit and physical education lesson plans to develop motor skills, strategies and tactics, understanding of fitness concepts, respect, sportsmanship and a value of lifelong physical activity and wellness. The teacher will develop unit and health education lesson plans that will help students to develop the skills to make healthy decisions for a lifetime. Responsibilities:

  • Teaches physical fitness, rhythms and dance, individual, dual, or team sports
  • Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide and orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas
  • Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs and other professional activities
  • Works to collaborate with other physical education teachers to promote educational philosophies and practices aligned with program goals
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and provides appropriate cues for physical activity performance to maximize student practice and learning on a regular basis
  • Creates learning opportunities that are adapted to Chinese students
  • Differentiates and modifies curriculum activities to match learners' needs
  • Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to insure the over-all safety of students
  • Selects, organizes and maintains physical education equipment and monitors use of outdoor school-owned property
  • Promotes standards of behavior that students will demonstrate in ethical, moral, and fair relationships with others. Applies authentic assessment techniques that are aligned with curriculum goals, learning experiences and student learning with outcomes
  • Communicates effectively with parents, staff and administration to monitor individual student progress
  • Participates in planning curriculum incorporating current pedagogical knowledge in the development of the scope and sequence of curricular content
  • Performs such tasks and assumes such responsibilities as the principal may assign

Additional School Requirements
  • Solid knowledge and background in Physical Education
  • At least 2 years previous teaching experience or a degree majoring in education
  • Having played sports at a high level a plus
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based teaching and Responsive Classroom
  • Teaching certification or license a plus
  • Understanding and proficiency in relevant technology
  • Knowledge of current ESL educational and instructional methodologies
