Principal

BIIS is a school located in Sandy Bay, Roatan, Honduras.  It is a private school including PreK to Grade 12. The registration is currently 140 students, with growth projected for several years.  All instruction occurs in English, with each grade also having one period of Spanish daily. Students will go on to post-secondary education in the US or other parts of the world, or in Central America. School enrollment is rapidly growing and we are actively improving student achievement.

Duties include:

  • Lead professional development programs for staff particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy
  • Establish and maintain professional learning communities to improve student achievement
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and students on a frequent basis
  • Creating and maintaining a positive school culture based on mutual respect and high achievement
  • Teacher evaluation and coaching
  • Establishing and reinforcing school policies and procedures  (attendance, safe schools, dress code)
  • Participate in staff selection 
  • Provide guidance and counseling services to students on their academic or vocational goals and offer assistance with behavioral modification programs
  • Assessment and evaluation in both elementary and secondary panels
  • Establish And Monitor elementary and secondary curriculum guidelines
  • Oversee budget and grant proposals
  • Determine budget allocations for items such as supplies, materials, staff and equipment
  • Attending conferences, collaborate with our Educational Consultant remotely and onsite when possible
