PYP PE Teacher
Reports to: Elementary School Principal/ PYP Coordinator
Scope of Work
The IB Primary Years P.E Teacher supports the Elementary School Principal/ PYP Coordinator in building and maintaining a high quality Physical Education programme in the school.by developing and implementing PE Teaching and Learning initiatives and strategies across the school in line with PYP curriculum. She / He is responsible for providing an inclusive and safe learning environment for the students where the process of inquiry is encouraged. The P.E Teacher will take an active lead in finding opportunities to encourage and showcase the young talents.
Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement PE Teaching and Learning initiatives and strategies across the school in line with PYP Curriculum
- To be a model of excellent practice, maintaining a clear focus on outstanding delivery to learners ensuring a centre of best practice and excellence
- Use of strategies to promote good learning relationships and high attainment in an inclusive environment
- To set standards of attainment and progress in all aspects of PE
- Setting up a suitable learning environment for PE
- Liaising with Teaching Team to develop PE in line with local events and cultural activities
- Guiding and supporting teachers in the subject area
- Experience of leading teaching and learning initiatives beyond their own classroom
- Vision for the development of Teaching and Learning in PE
- Strategies to enhance student engagement in sport
- To work closely with the senior leadership team and other leaders in developing, implementing and evaluating policies
- To research and evaluate innovative curricular practices
- To lead in developing sporting activities across the school and between other schools including competitive matches
- Effective use of Assessment for Learning to engage learners as partners in their learning
- Demonstrate excellent and innovative pedagogical practice
- The ability to lead and foster positive professional relationships and work effectively with teaching staff of varying experience
- Ability to plan and resource effective interventions, to meet curricular objectives
- Responsibility for ordering equipment to support the development of PE

The selection process will consist of three rounds of interviews, on Skype and/ or in person.
