Colegio Interamericano is a private co-educational day school in Guatemala City for children in grades PreSchool to Grade 12, currently enrolling over 1300 students. The school is accredited by AdvancED: Cognia. It is also accredited by the Ministry of Education of Guatemala. The school is an active member of AASCA (Association of American Schools in Central America) and Tri Association and students and staff regularly participate in the numerous activities offered by these regional organizations.
    
Student population includes: 80% Guatemalan; 9% Korean; 3% U.S. American and 8% from 16 other countries.
    
The school operates with a USA calendar system, with classes starting in August and ending in June. The school calendar includes a four-week vacation in December, and seven weeks in June and July.
    
Graduating students from Colegio Interamericano receive a High School diploma from the USA and Bachillerato en Ciencias y Letras from Guatemala which enables them to attend local universities, as well as those in the United States or other countries of their choosing. 
    
The teaching staff of the school includes approximately 30% personnel from the USA, Canada and other foreign countries. The remaining staff is from Guatemala.
             
The school is located on the outskirts of Guatemala City in a hilly part of the countryside, adjacent to Rafael Landívar University on 15 acres of beautiful terraced land and divided into 5 distinct areas: Early Childhood Education, Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Administration. There are 121 classrooms, 8 science laboratories, 5 computer labs, a two-story library, an amphitheater and 2 cafeterias. Among the sports and recreation areas, the school has synthetic soccer fields, two covered basketball and volleyball courts, early childhood and elementary playgrounds and multiple student common areas. The two school infirmaries are fully equipped and each staffed with a nurse. Green areas surround all of the buildings. A fleet of 30 buses picks up and delivers students and staff members throughout the city. All the buses have private radio systems and bus monitors.
