Vice-Principal

The Vice Principal is responsible for the daily operations of the school in absence of the Principal. He/She provides an environment for learning. He/She seeks and utilizes new and exciting teaching methods to build a strong foundation for future education. Work with principal to lead teachers, staff and community members in creating a collaborative learning community.

Additional School Requirements

    Character Traits, Experiences and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Education
    • Master's degree in Elementary school administration or equivalent is required.
    • Has a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as an elementary school Vice-Principal;
    • IB experience is an asset
    • International private schools experience
    • Has the ability to adapt to new work environments;
    • Demonstrates a willingness to make life adjustments to accomplish the schools' objectives
    • Culturally sensitive;
    • Is a team player;
    • Demonstrates the ability to identify and develop leadership potential within the staff;
    • Possesses strong conceptual skills and demonstrates the ability to develop and transfer them to staff;
    • Is an enthusiastic visionary, encouraging, self-starter with a high energy level;
    • Has demonstrated success at various levels of development;
    • Has led or participated in various organizations or groups;
    • Competent in integrating technology into curriculum as instructional medium.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Handle all duties of Principal in her/his absence
    • Improve student achievement by nurturing excellent teaching and learning and building a safe and supportive student culture.
    • Supervise students and staff.
    • Support principal by working as a team, backing-up principal’s decision, sharing work and communicating effectively.
    • Use data to inform decisions about instruction.
    • Partner with principal to provide leadership across staff, students and community.
    • Engage parents in student learning and site functioning.
    • Develop and empower teams.
    • Build trust to facilitate change.
    • Plan strategically.
    • Schedule and manage effectively.
    • Manage personal and staff time and priorities.
    • Build and maintain network of support outside the school.
    • Assist in the development and upgrade of school policies.
