Student Behaviour Counsellor

This student behavior counselor is expected to:
- Directly and indirectly highlight those core values to serve the school community’s vision and mission in its plans for well-being
- Facilitate the role of teachers and supervisors throughout the school day so that learning time is best utilized and rest/play time is best nourished.
- Provide a structured, criteria-based variety of student behavior modification tools that can be worked on with the other team members involved
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Preparing and implementing yearly student behavior health plans, activities, and preventive, development counseling programs, with clear objectives, methodologies, and techniques
- Planning and implementing behavior regulations for a consistent, fair, equitable, and inclusive environment for learners
- Responding to the various needs of students, which also includes coordinating with the academic departments, to better understand and assess the cases comprehensively
- Always communicating with Heads of Sections and floor supervisors for support, behavioral setting, problem-solving, and evaluation of overall practices
- Communicating with teachers through mentoring, coaching, and/or enrichment, of post-incident records to ensure that the cases are closed
- Maintaining a clear and accurate record of activities, incidents, and intervention plans, such as IEPs (when needed) in collaboration with other team members, and reporting them according to the relevant standards
- Planning awareness and instructional sessions for teachers as key segments in the professional development programs
- Planning awareness sessions for parents/guardians as part of parent engagement and partnership
- Tracking behavior patterns during certain periods of the day, such as morning arrival, recess, and dismissals
- Maintaining school-wide displays that foster positive behavior and good conduct
- Demonstrating professional, interpersonal, and cultural self-awareness
- Developing and managing student records for reference and evaluations, to sustain a culturally-responsive, student-supportive school landscape
