ESL is back! 

While we’ve been quietly adapting to the new world of online teaching and living, travel borders have been slowly opening back up. Things are looking good.

This is excellent news for travelers. 

If you’re an ESL teacher experiencing Zoom fatigue or sitting on your passport and waiting for the right opportunity to start traveling, this is your green light to begin applying for teaching roles abroad.

Teaching jobs in Japan

Update (September 2022): Japan has had a recent surge in hiring. If this isn’t a sign to apply, I don’t know what is. These are the 8 best programs in Japan (not just Jet!).

Japan’s PM announced an easing of immigration and travel rules. Certain countries are exempt from taking PCR tests upon landing if you’re fully vaccinated.

Benesse BE studio

Based in Shibuya, Benesse BE studio operates in over 1,700 schools across Japan. Benesse’s English learning programs are fun and interactive activity-based lessons for students of all ages. Teaching jobs in South Korea

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, vaccinated travelers from all countries can enter South Korea without a quarantine period of 7 days. However, a negative coronavirus test is still required for entry.

Teaching jobs in China

As of June 20, Chinese embassies are beginning to accept visa applications, including the Z work visa.

China will waive the government-issued invitation letter (PU letter) that foreigners must have to apply for certain types of visas, including the Z work visa.
