Role Summary
As Head of Middle School, you will be responsible for the academic and pastoral leadership of Grades 6–8. You will guide curriculum implementation (Cambridge & Checkpoint), foster a positive school climate, and support teachers and students to thrive. You will work collaboratively with the Academic Director and Senior Leadership Team to ensure a seamless transition between primary and secondary education.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Leadership
- Oversee the effective implementation of Cambridge Lower Secondary and Checkpoint frameworks.
- Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across subjects.
- Use student data to drive improvements and support differentiated learning.
- Coordinate professional development for middle school teachers.
- Pastoral & Student Wellbeing
- Build a strong middle school identity and culture rooted in respect, inclusion, and student voice.
- Oversee student behavior, wellbeing initiatives, and advisory programs.
- Foster partnerships with parents and guardians through regular communication and engagement.
- Staff Management
- Support, coach, and evaluate middle school teachers.
- Lead team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and whole-school initiatives.
- Curriculum & Transition
- Collaborate with Primary and High School Heads to ensure curricular coherence.
- Support the academic transition from IPC/Primary to Checkpoint and onward to IGCSE.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s preferred).
- Proven leadership experience at the middle or secondary school level.
- In-depth understanding of the Cambridge curriculum (Checkpoint, IGCSE).
- Experience working in an international or multicultural school setting.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to student-centered learning and inclusive practices.
Jet Aspire International School was founded in 2019 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, one of the beautiful countries in the east Asia and includes two independent schools, one is a Primary School and another is a Middle School.
Currently, Jet Aspire International School is implementing the the Cambridge Assessment, the world standard educational services for over 740 children with 120 staff, and 80 teachers, 24 of whom are invited or foreign teachers from every corner of the world specialized in Cambridge Assessment.
Regarding to the requirements of modern education philosophy, we have been implementing the IPC curriculum and the Cambridge Assessment in Primary school and IGCSE and AS level program in the middle and high school.
