About Discovery International School

Discovery is a small, private emergent curriculum English-language preschool, kindergarten, and day care certified by the Japanese government. We also provide continuing English education for elementary age students who attend Japanese day schools. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, and we enjoy a dedicated team of educators and parents learning each day with the children who attend.

We are located in the center of Japan (Nagoya), an ideal gateway to travel within the country and throughout East Asia. Nagoya is the 3rd largest city in Japan. Our location on the eastern border of the city provides us with a quiet neighborhood for residence, yet with easy access to the city center and Chubu International Airport.
