Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • IB Experience (preferably).
  • Desired knowledge in child neurodevelopment, play-based learning, and active methodologies (Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, etc.).
  • Montessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or similar) — preferred or in progress.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with preschool-aged children (18 months to 6 years).
  • Experience in designing fine motor, gross motor, sensory, and cognitive development activities.
  • Strong understanding of Montessori, constructivist education, and early learning frameworks.
  • Creative, organized, and enthusiastic about early childhood education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to mentor and inspire teachers.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Schedule:

Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

General Summary

This role is designed for an educator who loves creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children ages 18 months to 6 years, incorporating principles from Montessori, constructivist education, and best practices in fine and gross motor skills development.

This position will play a key role in designing activities, supporting classroom environments, looking for resources and guiding teachers to foster an atmosphere of curiosity, independence, and joyful learning.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative and appropriate activities that foster exploration, creativity, fine and gross motor development, and early academic skills according to the learning curriculum and ib curriculum anbd learning objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Preschool Academic Coordination team, participating in curricular planning aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, pedagogical meetings, and project monitoring.
  • Research and recommend resources, materials, and infrastructure that enhance and enrich students' learning experiences.
  • Support and coach preschool teachers in applying Montessori and constructivist methodologies across classrooms, providing guidance on best practices and classroom management strategies.
  • Develop resource materials including lesson plans, activity guides, and materials lists, aligned with child development milestones and Montessori principles.
  • Coordinate and oversee curriculum mapping focused on fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development areas.
  • Plan and organize special events, workshops, and interactive learning centers based on children's interests, developmental stages, and emergent learning needs.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and dynamic environment conducive to child-led learning, aligned with Montessori and Reggio Emilia best practices.
  • Lead professional development sessions for preschool staff on topics such as Montessori philosophy, inquiry-based learning, motor development strategies, and integrating play into learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with the academic leadership team on evaluating and enhancing the Early Childhood program, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Design and implement play-based, experiential activities that promote students' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth.
  • Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments that reflect the evolving needs and interests of young children.
  • Conduct ongoing student assessments through structured observations, anecdotal records, and developmental checklists to inform teaching strategies and curriculum planning.
  • Integrate appropriate educational technology tools (such as educational apps, smartboards, and augmented reality) to enhance and modernize students’ learning experiences.
