Position Summary:
The Head of Inclusion will pledge his/her commitment to help the school achieve its mission, goals,
and vision; value community; bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to take thoughtful
initiative in a collaborative setting. She/he will work with children who need extra support to fulfil
their potential and gifted students and should be committed to further the intellectual and personal
development of students, inspiring and empowering them to become positive, active global citizens.
The Head of Inclusion will work closely with Principal, Vice Principal, and section Principals. As well as
supporting the admissions and registration for any new students.
Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
In consultation with the Principal/Vice Principal/Section Principal/Head office Inclusion Specialist:
• Construct a Development and Improvement Plan, defining short, medium and long-term goals
of the department using assessment data as well as ADEK and Accreditation
agencies reports.
• Provide the administrative framework through which students and staff may function
effectively.
• Oversee the implementation and evaluation of the Development and Improvement Plan.
• Prepare the department for internal and external school inspection and accreditation visits
such as ADEK KHDA, NEASC-CIS, MOE, etc.
• Identify professional development areas and needs.
Uphold the code of conduct and all school policies at Al Ittihad Schools.
• Liaise with External Support Centers for the continuity of support and learning for students.
• Engage with the administration in a committed effort to improve instructional skills.
• Openly support and abide by all school policies and procedures.
• Model the ‘Core Values’ of the school in interactions with the school community.
• Liaise with the Principal, taking on tasks as assigned, including all school goals.
• Demonstrate commitment to personal continuous professional growth and development.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Serve as the official liaison between the school and the respective Curriculum Supervisor in the
Curriculum Development Department.
• Participate in formal class observations of colleagues in the subject area and provide appropriate
peer assistance, feedback, and possible solutions.
• Initiate and participate in teachers’ professional development activities including orientation and
training of new teachers.
• Undertake related tasks as assigned senior leadership team.
