Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for serving God in the context of early education.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with valid Teacher Certificate and appropriate Early Childhood Endorsement(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years successful teaching experience in Early Primary Education classroom
  • Additional professional development in Early Childhood Education pedagogy
  • Master’s Degree in Education field
  • Experience with play-based learning or child-centered learning.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Teaches core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, Social, Studies, and Bible
  • Collaborates with teachers and administration around student progress
  • Focuses on language arts strategies for developing readers
  • Plan and implement a developmental and age-appropriate program for pre-kindergarten children.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Prepare materials and lesson plans which meet the individual needs of all children.
  • Perform ongoing screening, assessments, and formal observations of children’s development.
  • Develop trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and conduct parent conferences.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team approach.
  • Develop portfolios that document the unique strengths, skills, and areas of growth for the children in your care.
  • Contribute to ongoing development and evaluation of school’s goals and objectives.
  • Plan and attend parent/teacher meetings, in-service trainings, and events.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities as needed.
  • Essential Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in implementing a developmental and age- appropriate curriculum for pre-kindergarten children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and other staff.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude.
