We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of English to lead our dynamic English department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator with a strong vision for teaching and learning to shape the future of English.
As Head of English, you will be responsible for setting high standards of teaching and learning, developing curriculum plans, supporting your team of teachers, and ensuring excellent outcomes for students across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the English department
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and development across middle and high school
- Support, mentor, and manage a team of English teachers
- Monitor student progress and implement effective interventions
- Lead departmental meetings, CPD sessions, and collaborative planning
- Foster a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and initiatives as part of the middle/senior leadership team

- A degree in English or a related subject and teachin qualaifaction
- Proven experience in teaching English with excellent results
- Experience in a leadership or middle leadership role preferred
