Job Description:

Puntacana International School is currently seeking a passionate and experienced High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality instruction aligned with the USA Common Core State Standards, while fostering a rich and supportive learning environment that strengthens literacy, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver English Language Arts lessons high school students
Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, writing, and vocabulary
Design assessments aligned with Common Core standards to measure student growth
Monitor student progress and provide differentiated instruction to meet varied learning needs
Foster a love of literature and writing through diverse and inclusive texts and projects
Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school-wide initiatives
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required)
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level
Strong understanding of the Common Core State Standards in ELA
Experience in an international or multicultural educational setting (preferred)
