Puntacana International School is currently seeking a passionate and experienced High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality instruction aligned with the USA Common Core State Standards, while fostering a rich and supportive learning environment that strengthens literacy, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver English Language Arts lessons high school students
  • Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, writing, and vocabulary
  • Design assessments aligned with Common Core standards to measure student growth
  • Monitor student progress and provide differentiated instruction to meet varied learning needs
  • Foster a love of literature and writing through diverse and inclusive texts and projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school-wide initiatives
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level
  • Strong understanding of the Common Core State Standards in ELA
  • Experience in an international or multicultural educational setting (preferred)
