Middle School MYP PHE Teacher Job Description - Vanke School Pudong

Job Purpose：
The job purpose of MYP PHE teachers is to teach and guide students in Personal, Health, and Education (PHE) courses during the MYP stage, aiming to promote students' physical and mental health development, enhance self-awareness, improve life skills, and cultivate good moral qualities and social responsibility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement PHE curriculum plans according to the IB MYP syllabus, ensuring teaching quality and progress;
- Design and organise diverse teaching activities to stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm;
- Pay attention to students' personal development and provide personalised guidance and support;
- Integrate interdisciplinary content to promote students' comprehensive development in PHE courses;
- Maintain communication with parents and other teachers to focus on students' growth jointly;
- Actively participate in various school activities, such as school professional development trainings, teacher seminars, parent meetings, admission activities etc.;
- Continuously update teaching methods and concepts to enhance teaching quality and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with colleagues within PHE Department and other departments.

About Vanke Bilingual School
Shanghai Vanke Bilingual School grew out of the International Bilingual Program of Fudan Vanke Experimental Private School. At present, there are students from 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Britain, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Mainland China.
Founded in 2006, International Bilingual Program . We aims to merge the Chinese education essence with Western education essence. We cultivate students the international perspective and international communication ability in hand while rooting in Chinese culture. The Chinese teaching and English teaching respectively accounts for 50%.
Small class size with 20 students contributes to an intimate and harmonious teacher-student relationship. Every child is respected as an individual learner. They are fully cared and encouraged by the adult staff at school.
Through practice and exploration, students are equipped with not only good learning habits, but also diversified thinking ability. The Chinese-English language ability of the grade-6 students has reached the level of twin mother-tongues. In Chinese language ability examination, the students are among the best of Minhang district. The English proficiency assessment of the students is based on the American ITBS. According to the historical test performance, students of every grade are better than American students of the same age in English proficiency. The test scores of Grade 9 students exceed the average scores of the American Grade 10 students.
