Candidates should:

  • Have a degree in Early Childhood Education or a teaching degree – primary level
  • Experience in schools or academic kindergartens is preferable
  • Be a teacher of German with conversational English

Responsibilities:

We are especially proud of our Kindergarten where we take a holistic approach to early childhood education. Our Kindergarten motto builds on the existing school motto: ‘We plant the seeds to enable great minds and strong characters’. Because of our proven track record, we have grown steadily.

In August 2020 we opened a new branch of our Kindergarten in Niederkassel, Düsseldorf. This modern facility is built with the children and their teachers in mind. The expertise and program of the Neuss branch has been transferred to the new branch.

Our Kindergarten is looking for a full-time Early Years Educator who can teach German skills to our international students starting 4th March 2024.

We are particularly looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about early childhood development and the well-being of children
  • Is a flexible team player who builds relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Creates a vibrant and structured learning environment
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills
  • Keeps abreast of the latest trends and best practices in Early Childhood Education
  • Is appreciative of, and sensitive to different cultures/backgrounds of families and colleagues
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to confidentiality
  • Can use and integrate technology in the learning environment (PC, Interactive Whiteboard, Tablet, Apps, etc.)
  • Most importantly, we are searching for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a real desire to help create a unique experience for our children in our new branch.

Your areas of responsibility will comprise:

  • Planning of lessons and daily routines
  • Following the program of instruction set out by ISR, collaborate with colleagues on a daily/ weekly basis
  • Teaching German to our children in a fun and engaging manner
  • Integrating a wide variety of activities and instructional approaches (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities, etc.) to motivate and stimulate the learning of each child
  • Assessing Student Progress
  • Monitoring the children’s development, strengths, and areas for further development
  • Assessing children’s performance and progress regularly.
  • Recording or documenting findings
  • Planning interventions to support the children’s learning environment
  • Managing the Learning Environment
  • Designing and setting up the learning environment at the beginning of the academic year
  • Guiding the learning of a group of approximately 20 children
  • Creating a harmonious and engaging learning environment. Develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

ISR, located in the Düsseldorf – Neuss – Meerbusch region, offers excellent international education from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a multilingual environment is exclusively financed by tuition fees, and does not receive financial support from the state. Furthermore, ISR is recognized as an accredited school by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. All proceeds are reinvested into the school to further benefit the students.

ISR is committed to providing comprehensive, internationally oriented, and individualized support for its students and offers an excellent learning concept that prepares students for studies at renowned universities worldwide. The well-structured curriculum, combined with the early identification of knowledge gaps through weekly tests (monitoring), form the basis for the graduation results of ISR graduates, which are far above the German and global average.

The curriculum is developed centrally and is taught using specially developed teaching programs. German is taught according to the curriculum for high schools in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Our ISR Team

Our international team comprises over 180 employees from over 40 countries. Around 160 staff members are dedicated solely to teaching, advising, and supervising the students as well as supporting them both in their academic and extra-curricular activities. This pedagogical team not only includes highly qualified teachers but also supervisors, university counselors, a student counselor, a school nurse, a student activities coordinator, a librarian, and the school leadership team.
