The candidate should:
- Be a fully qualified teacher with GCSE and IBDP or A-Level experience.
- Have experience teaching the English National Curriculum.
- A good understanding of personalized feedback and assessment.
- Have excellent subject knowledge.
- Have a passion for developing the whole child in a supportive and enriched classroom environment, as well as being a pastoral homeroom teacher in our Upper School.
- Have a proven track record of excellent classroom and pedagogical practice and can demonstrate impact in the classroom at a range of age groups.
- Be committed to attaining the highest standards in teaching and learning.
- Be inspirational with high expectations of pupil attainment, behavior, and well-being.
- Be a good team player, willing to work collaboratively on resources and engage outside of the languages department in promoting school policies.
- Be willing to arrange or support field trips that extend learning beyond the classroom.
- A dedication to extra-curricular activities.
Qualifications:
- A formal teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGdip, BEd, MEd, Qualified Teacher Status, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Experience of the IGCSE and IBDP, or experience in another relevant comparable post-16 qualification, such as A-Level Chemistry is essential.
- Experience working in an international school is desired.

ISR International School on the Rhine is a private, coeducational school catering for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school operates a non-selective admissions policy and has an enrolment of around 1050 students with more than 55 nationalities represented in the student body.
ISR is accredited by the German authorities as an ‘Anerkannte Internationale Ergänzungsschule’ (International Supplementary School) and by the US accrediting agency Cognia. ISR is an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme and offers Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE courses. Our school is looking for a full-time English Teacher for Upper School with IB experience starting August 2024.
